After working for 10 years in industry, I realized that what I needed was a job that gave me something to look back on when I retired, that I had done something with my life to help people. Knowing that I had done something that made a difference in people's lives was really what was going to make me get through my career at the end and look back and say, I did it right. It's easy to demonstrate to a person that when they come to Acorda, what they do is going to make a difference in the short term and in the long term for people with multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury. The most rewarding part of the job is really when we hear from patients. On occasions, we have opportunities to have patients come in and talk to us. That really reminds you why you do what you do and makes those challenging times much, much more easy to get through.
