Summary

The Compensation Analyst will participate in the planning, development and execution of compensation programs, including base pay, merit, incentive and stock grant programs. Conduct research, analyze data and prepare recommendations requiring a broad understanding of compensation techniques, methods and practices.

The Compensation Analyst will participate in the planning, development and execution of compensation programs, including base pay, merit, incentive and stock grant programs. Conduct research, analyze data and prepare recommendations requiring a broad understanding of compensation techniques, methods and practices.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct job evaluations to determine level, title and FLSA status. Establish/confirm salary grade based on internal equity and market data from salary surveys. Ensure internal equity across business.
  • Develops new job descriptions and updates current job descriptions as required in a health regulated environment. Assist managers and HR colleagues with the preparation/editing of job descriptions to reflect job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements and ensure they conform to Company standards and are non-discriminatory per federal/state statutes.
  • Maintain a functional system for job descriptions for all active positions, ensuring accuracy and inclusiveness.
  • Participate in and use published salary surveys in evaluating jobs for market comparisons. Analyze survey data to determine Company competitive position and makes recommendations.
  • Support the year-end Compensation and Performance Management process for the company and assist in the administration of the annual salary, bonus, promotion, and equity programs.
  • Assist in the analysis, design, development of new features and functionality of the Performance Management System in Synapse and Compensation modules in Workday.
  • Researches special compensation programs, incentive systems and compensation trends to support the organization's objectives.
  • Perform special research and analysis projects, as requested.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 3 - 6 years compensation experience, preferably in the life sciences industry
  • Bachelors degree preferably in Business, Finance, or Human Resources

Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills Excel, Word
  • Experience within Workday (Shared Participation functionality) or similar ERP system (ie Ultipro, PeopleSoft, ADP-Workforce Now, etc) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and process management skills
  • Ability to handle processes, tasks, and issues in implementing and administering compensation and performance management programs
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with database reporting system.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Progression towards CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) is a plus.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and draw conclusions from data.
  • High detail orientation with emphasis on accuracy.
  • It is essential that this individual demonstrate the ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task successfully in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to work on multiple projects at any given time.
