The Financial Analyst-Temp assists with monthly and year-to-date variance analysis comparing actuals to budget. This individual also provides support during the annual budget process and quarterly reforecasting process.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supports in the preparation of monthly financial close, including actual versus budget variance reports on a departmental and entity basis.
  • Prepares departmental narrative reports, which includes the analysis and explanation of large monthly variances.
  • Performs general ledger/cost center research and analysis on invoices/transactions in question by departmental management.
  • Assists with the month-end close process through the reclassification of journal entries as required.
  • Supports in the preparation of quarterly/periodic customized reports for cross functional teams, as well as ad hoc reports as requested by management.
  • Supports in the creation and maintenance of departmental level budget templates, master consolidated budget, and capital expenditures budget for the annual budgeting process.
  • Prepares monthly field-based travel and entertainment reporting.
  • Assists in gathering data and creating quarterly/periodic consolidated reforecast through discussion with departmental management, analysis of variances, and department forecast templates.
  • Assists with SOX compliance by following Finance internal requirements.

Education and/or Experience:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in public and/or private accounting or finance.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competence to handle a wide range of finance related responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, and have intermediate Excel skills e.g. V-Lookups, If Statements, and Pivot tables.
  • Prior experience with general ledger systems and business intelligence tools is preferred.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task successfully in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • It is essential that this individual demonstrates the ability to work with highly confidential information.

  • Ability to manage both day-to-day operations as well as project work in a fast paced environment.
