Summary

The Inhaler Development Engineer Co-op is involved in hands-on testing and other critical product assessments supporting inhaler development for Acorda's pharmaceutical programs.  A variety of mechanical tests are run demonstrating product reliability, robustness and functional performance. 

Full Description The Inhaler Development Engineer Co-op is involved in hands-on testing and other critical product assessments supporting inhaler development for Acorda's pharmaceutical programs.  A variety of mechanical tests are run demonstrating product reliability, robustness and functional performance. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (*Other duties may be assigned):

  • Develops new test methods in conjunction with Design Engineering. 
  • Organizes test sample scheduling to meet timeline commitments.
  • Performs inhaler testing, maintains laboratory records and prepares development reports. 
  • Applies engineering principles to data analysis and trouble shooting of test systems.   
  • Devises innovative approaches to engineering problems as encountered.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Previous co-op experience preferred but not required.
  • Candidate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Preferred
Qualifications:
Strong mechanical aptitude- applicant must be comfortable assembling, operating and maintaining complex mechanical equipment
 
Computer Skills:
Fluent with scientific and engineering software such as Matlab, Excel and JMP
