The Acorda Scientific Excellence Award was created to encourage young people to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). By working with WGCH AM and The Lisa Wexler Radio Show, this award showcases the academic talent in Westchester, Putnam and Fairfield counties. One student per week is selected to receive the award during the school year (September to June).
Each week, the winning student is interviewed by Ms. Wexler for the radio program, “The Acorda Scientific Excellence Award”. The program airs every Saturday morning on AM 1490 WGCH. To hear interviews from past ASEA winners click here. Winners will receive a plaque in recognition of their outstanding research, and their school will receive an award for display.
Are you doing exciting research in one of the STEM fields? Then we hope you will apply for the Acorda Scientific Excellence Award. As an Acorda Scientific Excellence Award winner, we want you to be recognized for your amazing work and to inspire the future research students from your school.
