The Acorda Scientific Excellence Award was created to encourage young people to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). By working with WICC 600 and The Lisa Wexler Radio Show, this award showcases the academic talent in Westchester, Putnam and Fairfield counties.
Each week, the winning student is interviewed by Ms. Wexler for the radio program, “The Acorda Scientific Excellence Award”. The program airs every Saturday morning on WICC 600. Winners receive a plaque in recognition of their outstanding research, and their school receives an award for display.
Are you a high school student in Westchester, Putnam, or Fairfield counties doing exciting research in one of the STEM fields? Then we hope you will apply for the Acorda Scientific Excellence Award. As an Acorda Scientific Excellence Award winner, we want you to be recognized for your amazing work and to inspire the future research students from your school.
